The Aligner is a ‘Guided Diamond Knife Sharpener’ that is clamped onto the back of a knife blade, allowing you to, precisely, direct a diamond sharpening whetstone along the blade’s cutting edge, making it possible for you to achieve an incredibly accurate sharpening bevel, which equates to a cutting edge that not just sharp, but Razor Sharp.
Guided sharpening, with the Aligner, will give you precise and consistent bevelled angles, which cannot be achieved by hand-sharpening alone. These exact angles, when sharpening; produce the ultimate in fast, precise knife cutting edges, which will quickly make your knives sharper than you have ever had them before. With the Aligner any knife edge can be, easily, quickly and consistently sharpened and re-sharpened into an incredibly sharp edge that is not just be sharp, but a “RAZOR-SHARP”!
Outdoor enthusiasts can, easily carry one of the Aligner kits around with them, whilst on walks, day trips, camping trips, or expeditions, as it simply folds away into a handy, small and compact carrying pouch.
The Aligner guide can be quickly attached to the back of a knife, within a matter of seconds, allowing you to bring back to life any dulled knife blade you wish and it only takes a few minutes. With just a small amount of practice, you can restore, what you thought was just and old and useless knife blade, a knife that you might have be thinking of throwing away, because it was beyond hope of ever being re-sharpened again; these old knives can be re-sharpened, sometimes within minutes, to a perfect razors-edge. Once your blade is sharp the Aligner can be stowed away in its canvas pouch within a couple of seconds.
The Aligner is one of the most flexible guided sharpening systems available; offering seven angle variables that range from, based on a 1" wide blade, 20 degrees (shallowest) to 40 degrees (steepest). The seven angled choices are: 16, 20, 24, 28, 32, 36, and 40 degrees.

DMT is the leading manufacturer of superior quality Monocrystaline diamond sharpening equipment throughout the world. Renowned by professionals for the quality of diamonds used in all of their products, DMT is simply the only real choice a professional should make.
The industrial grade diamonds used in all DMT products are diamonds that are known as ‘Monocrystaline’ diamonds, because this type of diamond has a single crystalline structure. Monocrystaline diamonds are manufactured without flaws or defects, into a single uniformed cohesive diamond, which will not shatter upon use. DMT Monocrystaline diamonds are simply the best diamonds for the job; they remain whole and stable throughout their entire working life, and should therefore last even the most demanding professional many, many years of trusted and reliable service.
A word of Caution! Low quality Polycrystalline diamonds are used in cheaper versions of diamond stones. These Polycrystalline diamonds are inherently flawed, causing them to quickly fragment and shatter upon use, this fragmentation effectively, changes the nature of the diamond stones grit size value, reducing the overall grinding speed and efficiency. What is worse than this is that with little continued use these cheap Polycrystalline diamonds continue to shatter until they have simply disintegrated away to nothing. In the world of diamond sharpening, you really do only get what you pay for. Polycrystalline diamonds are simply not fit for the job ... so, when only the very best will do, opt for DMT Monocrystaline Sharpening Equipment.
