This beautifully made Shark Designs – Bushcraft Knife Sheath has been custom designed so that it can replace the plastic sheath that is issued with most of the Mora knives. This hand-made, superb quality sheath has fully ‘Saddle’ stitched seams, and is made from only the very best top grade 3.5mm vegetable tanned leather.

This Bushcraft Knife Sheath – ‘High-Ride’ - has the belt loop stitched at a lower point on the sheath, this allows the sheath to be worn in what is called the ‘High-Ride’ position, which simply means that it is worn slightly higher on the belt than the ‘Low-Ride’ sheath style. If you would like the same style sheath, but would prefer to wear your knife in a higher position on your belt, please Click Shark Designs – Bushcraft Knife Sheath (Low-Ride).

In integral part of this sheath is the hardened leather ‘Welt’, which protects the knife’s cutting edge from damage whilst housed in the sheath. Any well-made, high quality, sheath should always have this essential feature. A Welt is the thick piece of hard leather that lies between the two sides of the sheath, along the cutting edge. The Welt provides structural strength to the sheath and prevents the knife from cutting the sheath at the stitching. It is important to note that any sheath that does not have a Welt is potentially dangerous to the user, since the cutting edge can easily slice through the stitch-line and cut whoever is holding / wearing it at the time. Many cheap sheaths get round this safety problem by riveting the sheath together at key points, whilst this may solve the problem of cutting edge injury, it does not prevent the knife’s cutting edge from becoming dull as it is accidentally cut along the metal rivet. A proper leather Welt is the only real way to solve both problems at the same time … so beware of cheap imitations!

Bushcraft Knife Sheath (High-Ride) will securely house the Mora ‘Clipper’ as well as most of the other Mora styles of knifes. The list includes the following knife styles: - 2010, 860, 860MG (Stainless & Carbon), 911, 946, 511, 546, 711, 746, 860F, Clipper Rescue, 137, 105, 106 and 120. (The fit may vary from knife to knife).

The sheath is a friction-fit sheath that will protect your knife better than many other types of sheath, since the leather covers most of the knife. The sheath is made without studs, that will wear out or break, and straps, that will stretch and therefore cease to hold knife in place properly, it has a clean aesthetically pleasing appearance that will hold your knife safely and securely when out in the field.

Please Note:
  • This sheath is available for both Left and Right Handed users, so it is important that you select the correct handedness of your sheath.
  • All sheaths are hand-made to order.
